Meet Us

Dr. Shepard has been in practice for over 30 years. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Before attending college Dr. Shepard was a member of the US Army's elite 82nd Airborne Division from 1974-1977. Dr. Shepard then attended college at California State University, Long Beach where he received a degree in chemistry before attending dental school at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry graduating in 1985. Deciding that a ‘small town’ was a better fit, Dr. Shepard took over a small dental practice in Anoka, MN and practiced there for 12 years before he and his staff moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art dental clinic in Coon Rapids, MN, located just across the boulevard from Mercy Hospital in 1999. 

Dr. Shepard has had a 25+ year history with the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society. He has been a board member on the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry Alumni Association and a frequent participant at the Clinical Grand Rounds series held at the School of Dentistry. Dr Shepard was also a member of Century College's Dental Assisting program's advisory council.

Dr. Shepard likes all aspects of dentistry including, Restoring Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic, Restorative, Children and Adult Dentistry as well as Oral Surgery and Endodontics. He stays current with many new techniques and trends in dentistry by attending numerous continuing education seminars throughout the year.

Some of Dr. Shepard’s hobbies include spending time with his two boy's, Jack and William, flying, horseback riding, biking and traveling.

Sheila is our Registered Dental Assistant. Sheila graduated from Herzing University in 2005 and has been enjoying her dental assisting career. The friendly atmosphere and close relationships between co-workers and patients makes Sheila happy to call Shepard Family Dentistry home since October 2012. 

Jennifer is our Business and Financial Coordinator. Jennifer began working in the dental field in 2003 and since that time, she has gained extensive training and knowledge that allows her to implement new systems to help educate our patients, with their insurance benefits, treatment plans and financial options. Jennifer found her professional home with Shepard Family Dentistry in February of 2015. 

Christine is our Licensed Dental Hygienist. She has over 20 years experience working in the dental field and really enjoys seeing patients and help them achieve healthy smiles.
